IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL SESSIONS
Meet us in Membertou, Halifax, or online anywhere in NS.
You've told yourself it isn't that bad. That other people have it worse.
People come to us for all kinds of reasons. A memory that won’t leave. A marriage that’s gone silent. A kid who’s struggling at school. Grief that won’t lift. A question about neurodivergence you’ve carried since you were young. What they have in common is a desire for life to feel more manageable than it does right now.
We take the time to understand what's going on, so things settle and you can move forward.
Do you struggle with:
- Feeling exhausted or overwhelmed
- Nightmares, flashbacks, or the effects of trauma and PTSD
- Grief or loss that's keeping you stuck
- Losing sight of who you are and what matters to you
- A core sense of not being good enough
- Patterns in your relationships that push people away
- Coping in ways you're not proud of
- Loneliness that doesn't lift
We help you get to the root of it, so the relief lasts.
Our team offers therapy and assessments in Membertou and Halifax, and virtually across Nova Scotia.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the intake process work?
You can book an appointment or a free consultation yourself by filling out the contact form for our Halifax or Membertou office. Our intake team will follow up to answer your questions, get a sense of what you’re looking for, and match you with the therapist in Halifax or Membertou best suited to your situation. Free consultations are with our intake team rather than a therapist. They know our clinicians’ training and availability well, so they can point you in the right direction from the first call.
How long do I have to wait until I hear from the intake team?
We follow up on requests for services within two business days.
Do you receive referrals from family doctors or other allied professionals?
Yes. We welcome third-party referrals from healthcare and related service providers. Referral sources can send client information by phone, fax, or mail. Our contact details for both our North Sydney and Halifax clinics are further down this page.
How long will it take to get an appointment once I complete my intake?
We run this practice so that clients experience minimal waiting times for both initial and follow-up appointments. We don’t maintain a waiting list for therapy, and we’ll tell you up front whether we have availability. Most new clients get an appointment within two weeks of completing intake. ADHD assessments in Halifax, along with other psychological assessments, work differently and do have wait times, which our intake team will walk you through.
When are your clinics open?
How much does therapy cost?
Fees are based on the recommended rates for each practitioner’s discipline and range from $185 to $225 per 50-minute session. Couples therapy runs in 90-minute sessions and is billed for that timeframe. Complete details are discussed at intake with our Client Services Coordinator, and you can find more on our fees and policies page.
Will my health insurance plan cover the cost of therapy?
Counselling and psychotherapy services are reimbursable through many private health insurance plans. Employers buy those plans from insurance companies, and only you can access the details of your own coverage, so you’re responsible for knowing whether counselling is covered. It’s also worth checking which type of therapist your plan covers, since psychologists in Halifax, clinical social workers, and counselling therapists are recognized differently by different plans.
Do you offer direct billing?
We only offer direct billing to members of the CAF, VAC, and RCMP, and to those eligible for NIHB benefits. We don’t offer direct billing to personal health insurance plans. You’ll pay the full cost of therapy at the time of your appointment and can seek reimbursement through your insurer.
