Hiring Mental Health Clinician
East Coast Psychotherapy & Trauma Clinic
Summary of Position
We are seeking seasoned clinicians with advanced practice skills, who can provide clinical assessments and trauma-resolution psychotherapy for attachment-related trauma, dissociation, and dissociative disorders. Knowledge of developmental and attachment theory, and experience addressing attachment trauma in clinical practice, is valued.
In addition to individual adult therapy, we are seeking an experienced clinician who can provide therapy to couples as well as conjoined relationships, such as parent–adult child dyads.
The majority of client-facing work will take place in person at our North Sydney / Sydney office, however there is flexibility to offer remote sessions on an as needed basis. Team collaboration and meetings are largely conducted remotely, allowing for meaningful connection while maintaining flexibility.
We are looking for confident, enthusiastic, and adaptable clinicians who value autonomy, are self-reliant in practice, and who are excited to grow and evolve alongside our expanding clinic — all while contributing positively to our collaborative, team-based environment.
Who You Are and What You Can Expect:
Based on your background and training, you may offer trauma-focused practice working with adults presenting with complex trauma and attachment related issues, and/or couples therapy.
- A team player who values a collegial environment and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
- A lifelong learner, committed to maintaining high standards of care and staying current in your field.
- Someone who is enthusiastic, dynamic, and adaptable — eager to grow with a practice that is expanding and evolving.
- Someone who appreciates the balance of autonomy and team support in your professional life.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work or Counselling Psychology.
- Registration and good standing with the appropriate regulatory body in Nova Scotia.

- Self-directed in practice and collaborative by nature
What We Offer:
- A contract-based position, offering the independence of private practice with the benefits of a team.
- A positive and collegial team culture where you’re respected and supported.
- The autonomy to practice independently, while having access to the Clinical Director and colleagues for consultation when needed.
- A comprehensive intake system that ensures appropriate client matches.
- A well-run, organized clinic environment, free of administrative burdens.
- Flexible and supportive scheduling, with the opportunity to craft a schedule that suits your needs while meeting strong client demand during evenings and some weekends.
