You may be functioning well on the outside while privately feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward. Perhaps work has begun to consume too much of your energy, a relationship has become stuck in the same painful pattern, or a major transition has unsettled your sense of who you are. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes the clearest reason to begin is simply that the ways you have been coping are no longer working as well as they once did.

I work with adults and couples who are looking for more than a quick answer. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface: the emotions, expectations, coping habits, and relationship patterns that keep repeating. My approach is active, collaborative, and practical. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you turn greater understanding into changes you can use in everyday life.

With individuals, I often help with anxiety, work-related stress and burnout, grief and loss, self-worth, relationship endings, and major life transitions. We may look at what triggers your distress, how your thoughts and reactions affect what happens next, and what helps you respond differently. The goal is not to eliminate every difficult thought or feeling. It is to help you feel less controlled by them, make choices with greater clarity, and live more consistently with what matters to you.

With couples, I help partners understand the patterns they become caught in, communicate more clearly, repair relationship injuries, and rebuild emotional and physical closeness. I also work with couples navigating infidelity, intimacy concerns, parenting pressures, and extended-family dynamics. I do not begin by deciding who is right or who is to blame. Instead, I help both partners understand what happens between them, recognize how each contributes to the pattern, and identify what each can do differently.

I have more than 25 years of experience in social work, mental health, psychotherapy, healthcare, and clinical supervision. I bring that experience without assuming I already know your story. Therapy should be a place where you feel respected, understood, and constructively challenged. If that sounds like the kind of work you are looking for, I would be glad to meet with you.

Outside of work, I most enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also like being outdoors – hiking, camping, fly-fishing, and running are some of my favourite ways to recharge. More recently, I have started exploring car restoration, which is giving me a new hands-on challenge and plenty to learn.
