I work with people who are ready to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them. You might be someone who seems to have it all together on the outside while inside, it feels like it’s all an elaborate act of plate-spinning that you can’t seem to stop. You may find yourself falling in love with the same kind of toxic person, struggling to set boundaries with friends and family, or wondering why you feel like crying every time your boss asks to speak to you. You may also be exploring your identity, sexuality, or what it means to live more authentically, particularly when your experiences have not always fit neatly into the expectations of others around you. My own experiences living and working abroad have also given me a personal appreciation for the complexities of identity, belonging, and finding your footing when the world around you feels unfamiliar.
I am especially interested in working with people who are beginning to connect present-day struggles with earlier experiences, including difficult relationships, family dynamics, trauma, or experiences of feeling misunderstood or unseen. For neurodivergent clients, I also recognize that many of the strategies that helped you navigate the world may have come with a significant emotional cost. For those who have been diagnosed later in life, you may feel like you need to get to know yourself and your life experience all over again. Together, we can explore not only what is difficult now, but how you learned to move through the world in the first place.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and curious. I draw from several therapeutic perspectives, including psychodynamic, culturally-sensitive, feminist, and trauma-informed approaches, and I tailor our work to you rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model. I believe therapy should be a place where you can slow down, get curious about your patterns, and make sense of the parts of yourself that may not always seem to make sense.
I will not expect you to arrive with everything figured out. You are welcome to bring the messy, complicated, contradictory parts of yourself into the room. My hope is that therapy can become a space where you feel understood enough to explore what you need, what you want, and who you are becoming.
When I’m not working, I consume media with a fairly ravenous hunger: I love reading fantasy and mystery/crime novels, watching comedies and horror movies, listening to audio dramas and podcasts, and keeping up with the news and what’s happening in the world. Cross-stitch and other crafty activities help keep my hands busy while I watch or listen. I also love animals and will happily hear stories about your pets.
More recently, I was given a KitchenAid mixer, so I’ve been spending a fair amount of my free time attempting to bake things that are edible and, ideally, cannot be mistaken for cement. I love to travel, too, and particularly enjoy taking photographs and exploring museums and coffee shops whenever I’m somewhere new.
As of October 5th, 2026 our North Sydney clinic will be relocating to Membertou.
