Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can offer a space to slow down, gain perspective, and reconnect with yourself. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
For nearly two decades, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through some of life’s most difficult moments as a social worker. I especially enjoy working with older teens (15+) and adults who are navigating life transitions—whether that’s starting post-secondary education, entering the workforce, building relationships, becoming a parent, changing careers, coping with loss, or rediscovering who they are during periods of change. While these experiences can feel uncertain, they also offer opportunities for growth, healing, and greater self-understanding.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, evidence-based strategies, and a compassionate perspective as we work toward the goals that matter most to you. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck while building practical skills that help you move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I draw from evidence-based therapies including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring each session to your unique needs and strengths. Whether you’re looking to improve emotional regulation, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, or better understand yourself, therapy is always guided by what feels most meaningful and helpful to you.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from Saint Mary’s University. Along with my formal education, I’ve completed additional training in DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, and other therapeutic approaches that allow me to provide compassionate, evidence-based support.
Above all, I believe healing happens through connection. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work, and I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment. Wherever you are in your journey, we’ll work together to help you gain insight, build on your strengths, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me outdoors. I love camping, hiking, spending time in the woods, cheering from the baseball diamond, or enjoying a day at the beach or pool with my husband and two daughters. Our dog, Rosie, and cat, Bernie, are frequent camping companions and are just as much a part of the adventure as we are.
As of October 5th, 2026 our North Sydney clinic will be relocating to Membertou.
