For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people as they heal, grow, and rediscover themselves. As a licensed therapist, I’m trained in EMDR, EMDR 2.0, somatic therapy, and specialized EMDR approaches for depression, anxiety, phobias, and OCD. While I value ongoing learning and evidence-based approaches, I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship we build together.
I’m passionate about helping people let go of the old beliefs, painful experiences, and self-defeating patterns that have kept them feeling stuck. One of the things I hear most often is, “I don’t think what happened to me was trauma.” Many people believe that unless they’ve experienced war or a major catastrophe, their struggles aren’t valid. The truth is, trauma isn’t defined by the event itself—it’s about how our experiences have impacted us.
“Trauma doesn’t happen to us, it happens inside of us.” – Gabor Maté
I help my clients understand that every experience matters. Together, we explore the parts of yourself you’ve been criticizing, fighting, or trying to push away, and replace judgment with compassion. Healing isn’t about becoming someone different—it’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been beneath the pain.
As the mum of an 11-year-old boy, I spend plenty of weekends at Pokémon card fairs, watching Star Wars, or searching for interesting bugs and unusual stones. When I have time to myself, I love to paint and draw, or sit at the piano making up wonderfully nonsensical tunes.
You’ll often find me exploring new walking trails, and whenever I get the chance, I’m in the water scuba diving or snorkelling. At home, my son has a pet snake named Icepops, and we also have a large fish tank that I love to sit and watch while enjoying my first cup of tea each morning. Those quiet moments are the perfect way to start my day.
As of October 5th, 2026 our North Sydney clinic will be relocating to Membertou.
