In my 10+ years of clinical practice, I have found that the most difficult step is making the first appointment and reaching out for help. I recognize the strength it takes to reach out and the importance of first impressions for a client.
I strive to create a calm and non-judgemental space for a person to share their experiences. We all have a story to tell and my diverse experience has taught me that the most important tools are empathy and active listening. I utilize a trauma-informed and client-centered approach to assist the client to feel at ease. Building rapport and trust is the key to success for the client.
